May 4 and 5th--Testing notes from Monticello and Vernon NY race Tracks--

We started testing at the Monticello raceway on Saturday and the track was real wet. The bike has developed a “boggle” in the mid range that we haven’t figured out yet. It’s a problem because its right where I want to get back on the gas. It makes things a lot harder when you have to “play” with the throttle to get the bike to turn. We rode through it so we did not waste the time working on the bike. I was less than a second off Coolbeth and Mees even with this pretty big problem. That’s huge. We really hit the gearing pretty close and the suspension is working awesome. I really think when we figure the “boggle” problem out we will be even closer to the fast time

Vernon-

Today we rode Vernon, I was a bit nervous as I haven’t been on many big bikes on the mile and when we got there we were informed that hay bales we optional and not coming. I was a bit more nervous now and with this “boggle” I was unsure of the outcome. I went out for a ginger first practice and was wide open by the third lap. The bike does everything right, besides the “boggle”. We were a bit farther off Coolbeth today 1.6 seconds, but he was on fire and I was being very careful due to the hay bale issue. I talked with Steve Beattie and he thinks I was ripping and the “boggle” was easily costing 1.5 seconds per lap…!!! That’s a huge deal. We are right there at our first try. I feel like this bike was built for me and I have even amazed myself seeing how quickly I am getting up to speed on the bike..

April 19, 2008 --- From Rider RJ Overholt after practice session today:

We rode the bike at a local short track yesterday and the thing is flipping awesome !!!!! I was beating guys on 450's and that's saying something for a big bike on that little track. The power is great and I was able to use throttle control to get in off the corners. The track was clay and super slick but it still was very raceable.  The thing is better than any XR 750 I've ever ridden. I am super stoked about this thing and hope it works half as good on the big tracks....  RJ
